4th FfD Conference 2025
Civil Society Forum 2025
📢 Save the Date: Civil Society Forum – Sevilla, Spain! 🌍✨
The FfD4 Civil Society Forum is an integral part of the programme of the Fourth Conference on Financing for Development – as in all previous FfD Conferences - and is essential to the conference accountability, ambition and democratic nature.
The Civil Society Forum is scheduled to take place in Sevilla, Spain, on June 28-29, 2025. It will start at 2PM on Saturday, June 28th, and will continue for the full day on Sunday, June 29th. While the precise location of the Forum cannot be announced yet, we can anticipate that it is in a very central location, at walking distance from Sevilla's Plaza de España.
The Forum is being organized by the Civil Society FfD Mechanism in close cooperation with the national, regional and local CSO coordination platforms in Spain, also active members of the Mechanism. It will be open to all interested civil society organizations, independently from their status with the UN system. It will provide an essential opportunity for engagement to all civil society organizations, social movements and other groups, including those that may learn of the conference late and those that may not have full accreditation to the UN system. The Forum is therefore of fundamental importance to connect the official process with the local, regional and national social fabric.
The Forum will be complemented by a collective public mobilization in the evening of Sunday, June 29th (details forthcoming). Several other initiatives and cultural events will also be organized in Sevilla by individual civil society organizations and groups.
➡️ Link to Preliminary Programme (forthcoming)
The Forum will be primarily comprised of plenary sessions given the logistical challenges induced by the expected large attendance. The Forum will feature simultaneous interpretation in English, Spanish and French. It will also be possible to follow the Forum from remote thanks to the livestreaming of the event (link forthcoming).
➡️ Link to Civil Society Forum Declaration (to be posted at the end of the Forum)
The Forum will endorse a final Declaration which will be presented at FfD4 to convey the overall assessment by civil society on the status of the negotiations on the FfD4 Outcome Document and on the necessary future follow-up.
➡️ Civil Society Forum - Registration for Civil Society Participants (deadline June 16 COB)
Please note that registration should be completed by 'organization' rather than by 'single participant'. Each organization should fill in one single registration and list all its delegates to the Forum. The capacity of the Forum location is limited to 1300 people, and it may therefore be necessary to limit the size of the delegations, in case the number of registrations exceeds this limit.
➡️ Civil Society Forum – Registration for Non-Civil Society Participants (deadline June 16 COB)
While the Forum is primarily organized for public benefit civil society organizations, networks, collective, federations and movements, limited attendance of non-civil society participants and media is provided for the second day of the Forum (June 29) through this separate registration link.
